Pixie-bob Cat Breed information:

The pixie bob appeared in the US in 1980 from wild-looking barn cats and other cats that were reminiscent of a cross between a North American bobcat and a house cat. The name of the breed comes from the cat that originated the development of the breed: Pixie. The breed arrived in Europe in 2001, but it is not very common.

Pixie-bob Cat Breed personality:

One of the characteristics of the most relevant pixie bob is their special character, as it is what has made them so appreciated. These kittens are really friendly and affectionate, which is why many consider it the ideal cat for families with children, as they are extremely tender and patient, so we do not have to fear that there may be conflicts between them and the little ones in the house.

These cats are well adapted to apartment and apartment life as they are quiet and love to enjoy long naps and grooming sessions on the armchairs or sofas at home. In addition, these cats are attentive and very intelligent, so they learn really fast, being one of the easiest cat breeds to educate, we can even teach them some tricks or pirouettes if we are constant in their training. For this, we recommend consulting the article on How to train a cat.

Pixie-bob Cat Breed characteristics:

The pixie bob is a large breed that is reminiscent of the bobcat in many ways; perhaps the most obvious is its short tail (although the tail may be almost non-existent, short, or even long). The body is muscular, has a pear-shaped face, and has tufts on the ears. The woolly coat protrudes from the body and has a mottled pattern on a light tan to the reddish background. Most pixie bobs have black hair and skin on the undersides of the legs, thick hair and tufted ears, black lips, and white hair around the eyes, but with black skin. Most have short hair, but some are long-haired. The eyes are golden or greenish. The pixie bob is one of the few breeds that supports polydactyly (extra fingers) in their standards, up to a maximum of seven fingers.
